Abstract
Background: Post Partum blues is a from feeling distrubance due to adjustments to the birth of a baby that appears on the first to fourteenth day after giving birth in which the peaking symptoms areon the fifth day. In Indonesia, there are 50-70% of post partum women experiencing post partum blues events. Post partum blues often causes interruption of mother and child interactions and interfere the attention and guidance needed by the baby to develop properly. Therefor, the writer in interested in giving citronella oil aromatherapy a preventation of post partum blues symptoms. Objective: The writing of this scientific paper is to determine the effectiveness of citronella oil aromatherapy for cahnges in post partum blues symptoms in primipara post partum mothers. Research Method; The scientific paper used a descriptive analytical method using a case study approach. The data are obtained by interview, observation, physical examination, and medical record documents. Result: The there day administration of citronella oil aromatherapy has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of postpartum blues in one client by five scores greater than the clinet two by one score. Recommendation: It would be better for citronella oil aromatherapy to be used routinely by post partum mother starting from the first day.
