Abstract
Background: Diarrhea can cause dehydration or lack of large amounts of fluid, potassium and electrolytes. Herbal remedies for diarrhea are still limited. One of the natural ingredients that have the same potential as the usefulness for antidiarrheals is leunca (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex F.A. Zorn) Fosberg) contain tannin compounds. An Infusions combination of leunca (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex F.A. Zorn) Fosberg) need to be improved and tested to find potential as antidiarrheal. Objective: To examine the effects of antidiarrheal infusions combination of leunca fruit (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex F.A. Zorn) Fosberg) toward white male wistar rats using the Oleum ricini method. Method: Induce experimental with castor oil. Results: The SPSS data was analyzed using One-Way ANOVA and tested through Post hoc LSD. The result of this study shows variations infusions combination of leunca fruit (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex F.A. Zorn) Fosberg) have antidiarrheal effects. Conclusion: Based on the results of the infusion combination of leunca fruit (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex FAZorn) Fosberg) the best is 1: 2 variant (-1.72250 ± 0.70222) for the best result in the best consistency of faeces is between the negative control groups and infusion groups, the combination of leunca fruit (Solanum americanum Mill.) and breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson ex FAZorn) Fosberg) with ratio 2: 1 in the amount of (-0.40250 ± 0.14005).
