Abstract
Background : Moringa (Moringa oleifera L) is a plant that is rich in antioxidant compounds. Various products containing antioxidant compounds have been widely used, such as gel peel-off mask. This study aimed to obtain a peel-off mask gel formulation from extract of ethyl acetate moringa leaf (Moringa oleifera L) of antioxidant with polyvinyl alcohol and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose bases as a viscosity enhancer. Menthod : Antioxidant activity was tested by using DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Moringa leaf was extracted by maceration using ethyl acetate. The extract was made to be peel-off mask gel with extract of ethyl acetate moringa leaf 1% and viscosity enhancer variation of PVA 10% (F1), 6% (F2), 2% (F3), H PMC sebesar 2% (F1), 6% (F2), 10% (F3). Result : The result showed that the increase in concentration of HPMC in the formula affect thickening of the gel preparation and the spread of the gel was reduced. Antioxidant test results using the DPPH menthod showed the IC50 value of 33,707 Moringa leaf peel-off gel face mask extract which was classified as a very strong antioxidant. Conclusion : From this study is the preparation of Peel-off Gel Mask From Extract of Ethyl Acetate Moringa leaf has antioxidant activity.
