Abstract

Background: Background of this study is tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is one of the third leading causes of death after heart and respiratory disease, which usually occurs at productive ages, 1550 years. The role of the family, PMO (Drug Drinking Supervisor), and other health workers very much influence the level of patient compliance in treatment. Adherence is one of the keys to the success of patients in the treatment of TB. Purpose:The purpose of this study was to determine the level of compliance with the use of antituberculosis drugs in adult TB patients in the Pulmonary Disease Treatment Unit of Kebumen Regency. Method: This study uses a descriptive non-experimental method using a cross-sectional design, in a prospective way. Results of the study are based on 50 patient respondents who have a 90% compliance rate (45 patients), while patients who are less obedient are 10% (5 people). Conclusion in this study 90% of patients have a high level of adherence, 96% of patients have high motivation and the relationship between the level of adherence with patient characteristics gender, age, level of education, level of income do not have a significant relationship and the level of work has a significant relationship. Recommendations based on the results in the field of patient compliance have not reached 95%, this is due to several patient constraints such as distance, time to take medication that changes, and forget to take medication.
