Abstract

Background: Indonesia has 93% of measles immunization coverage in 2016. In fact measles is still one of the causes of death in infants. Furthermore, there are still 32, 1% of babies who are not immunized against measles. This is because mothers feel worried that their babies will often get sick and hav a fever. To overcome the pain. They can give their infants ice-compress. Objective: Describing nursing care with the application of ice-compress to reduce the level of infants’ pain after having injection of measles immunization at the posyandu in Sampang village. Method: This research was conducted by using an analytical descriptive method with a case study approach. Participants were 2 infants having measles immunization. The data were obtained through an interview, observation, and physical examination. Ice compress is an act of attaching ice wrapped in a thick layer using ice blocks with a small size, ice compress is carried out for 2 minutes before the immunization procedure.pain level assessment is carried out using the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale format. Result: After having ice-compress, there was a decrease in pain level of all subject (100%). That is from severe pain to be moderate pain. That appears is acute pain. The intervention is ice compresses. Implementation compress the ice of both patients. Evaluation that there is a decrease in the pain scale of the two patients after a ice compressed. Conclusion: Ice compressed therapy can reduce pain in infants underwent immunization procedures. Recommendation: Researchers will be develop a ice compressed therapy for reduce pain fracture patients.
