Abstract

Background: Heart disease currently ranks first in the cause of death in Indonesia, around 25% of all deaths are almost caused by heart disorders. Disruption of the basic needs of security and comfort in CHF patients will cause nursing problems, one of which is pain. Objective: to describe the analysis of nursing care for patients with congestive heart failure with acute pain in ICCU RSUD Prof. dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study instrument uses SOPs for benson relaxation techniques and standard operating procedures for measuring the intensity of acute pain. Data obtained from the results of observation of interviews, physical examinations, and study documentation. The subjects consisted of 3 patients with congestive heart failure with the main problem being acute pain. Results of nursing care: The results of a study conducted on patients with congestive heart failure obtained the main complaint data that was felt was acute pain in the chest. The priority nursing diagnosis in patients with congestive heart failure is acute pain associated with biological injury agents. Nursing interventions carried out are pain management with benson relaxation innovations. Nursing implementation that is carried out is namely pain management In addition, the writer also applies benson relations. The results of nursing evaluations in patients with congestive heart failure, indicate the problem of acute pain associated with biological injury agents resolved with an indication of a decrease in the scale of pain. The results of innovations in nursing actions of the benson relaxation technique in patients with congestive heart failure who experience acute pain show a decrease in pain symptoms from scale 3 to scale 2 (33.3%). Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for the management of acute pain in patients with congestive heart failure using nonpharmacological methods, one of which is benson relaxation or combining with other actions
