Abstract

Background: Basic immunization is very important to be given to infants aged 0- 12 months to provide immunity from diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I), including tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, hepatitis B and measles. Purpose of Writing: Describe nursing care with the application of breastfeeding therapy to reduce pain in children undergoing the DPT immunization procedure at Adimulyo Health Center. Methods: This study was conducted using a descriptive analytic Method : in the form of a case study approach. The subjects were 2 children who were immunized with DPT. Data obtained through interviews, observation and physical examination. Breastfeeding is an act of giving breast milk to children exclusively, breastfeeding is done for 2 minutes during the immunization procedure. Pain level assessment was carried out using the FLACC scale format. Results: After breastfeeding therapy, there was a decrease in the pain level of the two subjects (100%), namely from a severe pain scale to a mild pain scale. The diagnosis that appears is acute pain. The intervention undertaken was the provision of breastfeeding therapy to reduce pain. Implementation is to provide breastfeeding therapy for both patients. The evaluation was that there was a decrease in the pain level of the two patients after giving breastfeeding therapy. Conclusion: Breastfeeding therapy can reduce the level of pain in children undergoing immunization procedures. Recommendation: Breastfeeding therapy for all measures related to acute pain for infants / children
