Abstract

Background: Pain is an experience that is subjective or cannot be felt by others. Post orif pain is physiological, incision wounds will stimulate chemical mediators from pain such as histamine, bradykinin, acetylcholine, and prostaglandins where these substances will increase the sensitivity of pain receptors and will cause pain in postoperative patients. Objective: To describe acute pain nursing care with breath relaxation therapy in lavender aromatherapy to reduce pain intensity. Method: This scientific paper uses a case study method in the form of nursing care for acute pain patients, using a cumulative descriptive method in the form of case studies. Data obtained from interviews, observations and physical examinations. Where the authors apply to the two subjects that will be assessed for success. Results: After breathing relaxation therapy in lavender aromatherapy in 3 days with a frequency of 3 times a day for 15 to 20 minutes, the results of the patient were 1 initial pain on a scale of 5 and final pain on a scale of 3. . Conclusion: Breathing relaxation proved effective in reducing the intensity of pain in post orif patients. Recommendation: Patients with acute post orif pain are encouraged to relax their breath in lavender aromatherapy.
