Abstract

Background: Low self-esteem is a feeling of shame or inferiority due to lack of self which is usually caused by a negative assessment of oneself and others in the same environment. Writing Objectives: Describe the mental nursing care of chronic low selfesteem. Method: Using a descriptive method with a case study approach that is doing nursing care to 2 clients. The subjects were two clients with low self-esteem, doing nursing care for 5 days. Results: Obtained results client feels insecure, has negative feelings towards himself, feels disliked, feels embarrassed, feels that he is stupid, has a disruption in social relations, feels failed in achieving desires, cannot express positive things to himself, looks sad, the face looks gloomy, less eye contact and talk quietly. The evaluation was carried out for 5 meetings and found that the problem of low self-esteem had been resolved with the percentage of results in P1 decreased by 56¸25% and in P2 by 50%. Recommendation: It is expected that the role of nurses in providing mental nursing care low self-esteem is getting better.
