Abstract

Background: Anxiety is an unexplained feeling of fear and form of response to internal and external stimuli that have behavioral, affective, cognitive, and physical signs and symptoms. Deep breathing relaxation therapy and five-finger hypnosis is one of the psychotherapies that can be used to reduce anxiety. Purpose: To describe the ansietas nursing care analysis of mellitus diabetes with the application of relaxation therapy in deep breathing and five-finger hypnosis in patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach in 2 patients with diabetes mellitus in the Sempor Health Center 1. The Evaluation of signs and symptoms of anxiety using the DASS instrument (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale). Deep breath relaxation therapy and 5 finger hypnosis was carried out for 2 visits with a time of 35 minutes. Results: There were decreased signs and symptoms of anxiety in Client 1 by 16 scores and Client 2 by 18 scores. There is an increase in the ability to take deep breaths and five-finger hypnosis on Client 2 higher than Client 1 which is 1 score on Client 1 and Client 2 by 2 scores. Recommendations: This case study is to analyze nursing care for anxiety by applying deep breathing relaxation therapy and five-finger hypnosis to reduce anxiety in patients with diabetes mellitus with anxiety disorders.
