Abstract
Background, work is a physical activity or a mind in doing, designing or solving something. Working mothers are required to be balanced in carrying out office and home tasks. The psychological state of a worried mother will inhibit the production of oxytocin hormones which consequently breast milk is not lancer. Research objectives, the purpose of this research is to know the relationship of anxiety on the success of the exclusive breast milk work at Panti Waluyo Hospital. Research methods, this study uses a descriptive analytical method with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was that all female workers at Panti Waluyo Purworejo Hospital amounted to 92 people with a sample of 22 people. Measurement of anxiety using State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the success of exclusive ASI using questionnaires. Hypothesis testing using the Rank Spearman analysis. The results of the study showed that most of the respondents were 20-35 years old (81.8%), most of the respondents were highly educated (72.7%) and the order in which the child is the first child (45.5%), most of the respondents suffered only mild anxiety (68.2%). The large volume of breast milk produced is influenced by the psychic condition of a mother. Exclusive breastfeeding success of some respondents including partial lactation (50.0%). Based on the Spearman Rank test results, there is a significant relationship between anxiety and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers at Panti Waluyo Purworejo Hospital with the Spearman Rank coefficient = -0.595 and p = 0.003. Conclusion, There is a significant relationship between anxiety and the success of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers at Panti Waluyo Purworejo Hospital with the Spearman Rank coefficient = - 0.595 and p = 0.003. The higher the anxiety, the success of exclusive breastfeeding decreases, and conversely the smaller the anxiety, the success of exclusive breastfeeding increases. Recommendation, Futher researchers should be able to control other factors that affect milk production.
