Abstract
Background: One of the dental and oral health problems that need to be considered in life is caries. Caries is one proof that teeth and mouth are not cared for in Indonesian society. The prevalence of caries in Indonesia reaches 90% of the population of children under five due to, among others, the use of pacifiers and tooth brushing behavior. Objective: To determine the relation of pacifier use and the Behavior of brushing teeth with the dental caries. Research Methods: This research use a purposive sampling method with cross sectional survey apporoach. The sample of this research was 96 respondents who fulfilled to the inclusion criteria.Data were analyzed by using spearman rank correlation. Research Results: The Results of the use of the dot percentage of high or often as much as 50 respondents (52,1%), the results of the behavior of brushing teeth is the percentage high enough 68 respondents (70.8% in) and the percentage of the presence of caries a number of 67 respondents (69,8%) . The results of the data analysis the use of the dot and the behavior of brushing teeth there was a significant relationship with the incidence of dental caries in children with significant results ,000 (p=<0.005) which means that associated. Conclusion: There is a correlation of pacifier use and the behavior of brushing your teeth with the incidence of caries in children. Recommendation: Further research is expected to be examined by different factors.
