Abstract
Background : The prevalence of the problem of nutritional needs in children is still high in the world, there are 19.6% in 6 years (2012-2018) experiencing cases of malnutrition. Based on observations made by researchers in the field, there are still many mothers who do not understand the importance of providing MP-ASI and have never been given counseling about MP-ASI. To overcome this condition, an educational approach can be applied using lecture and booklet methods. Objective :To determine the effect of health education using lecture the methods and booklet on maternal behavior in supplementary feeding. Reserch Methods : Quantitative research desaign with a literature review approach. The search method uses a data base of GOOGLE SCHOLAR, RESEARCHGATE, and SCIENCE DIRECT with a search time span of 2018-2020. Reserch Results : Conseling research using lecture method states it is effective to be applied to increase parental knowledge regarding MP-ASI. The results of the research analysis using the effective booklet method to be applied because the booklet can be carried anywhere and can be read at any time when the mother is free time. The results of health education counseling analysis using lecture and booklet methods are very effective to collaborate because the results obtained are very satisfying and high to increase the knowledge of mothers about MP-ASI. Conclusions : From the results of the analysis the prevision of health education using the lecture method and booklet is more effective to be applied than just lecturing or booklet. Recommendation : Future rearchers are expected to apply health education through lectures and booklets on MP-ASI to mothers who have babies aged 6-24 month.
