Abstract

Background: hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is experienced by a lot of the community in the worldwide. This disease is also called the silent killer because the causes are rarely known by sufferers. Objective: To analysis factors to determine the factors of hypertensive precipitation Method: this study was a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. In this study, a sample size of 157 patients was selected by using systematic random sampling techniques. The total sample of this study was 61 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire and analyzed by Chi-Square test. Result: the result of chi square test showed that there was a significant relationship between age, salt consumption, poor diet, and activity with hypertension (p-value <0,05). While the factors did not significant relationship with hypertension (p-value >0,05) were gender, smoking history, coffee consumption, and psychological factors. Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between age, salt consumption, poor diet, physical activity with hypertension.
