Abstract

Background: Working mothers who provide exclusive breastfeeding have difficulty managing time and sharing the role of being a mother. Working mothers have workloads that result in fatigue and prefer practical ways to provide for their baby's needs.While you are breastfeeding and working to achieve exclusive breastfeeding, a support that motivates you to give exclusive breastfeeding is needed, an internal support from yourself such as how you behave in breastfeeding babies, and external support such as family support which is an external factor that is play the biggest role in the success of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers. Objective : to determine factors related to the success of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers. Method : The research method used is the Cross Sectional approach. Total population of 317 mothers who have children aged 6-24 months. The study used a proportional random sampling technique. The samples are 76 respondents. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis using Chi Square with P value = <0.005. Results: 92.1% Mothers have attitudes in the good category, and 7.90% Mothers have attitudes in the less category. Chi Square test results show that Pvalue = 0.358 (> 0.005). Family support shows 53.94% of mothers have family support in the good category, and 46.05% in the less category. Chi Square test results show that Pvalue =0.001 (<0.005). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the attitude of the mother with the success of exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers with the result of Pvalue = 0.358 (> 0.005). And there is a significant relationship between family support and the success of exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers with the result of P-value = 0.001 (<0.005).
