Abstract
Background: Acute Myocardial Infarction (ACS) is an emergency condition so that proper and fast management is the key to success in reducing the risk of death and preventing the spread of infarction. The nursing intervention used to reduce left chest pain in patients with ACS is Benson's relaxation, which is a passive relaxation technique that does not use muscle tension so it is appropriate in the case of ACS. Benson relaxation therapy can be combined with distraction methods such as music therapy for maximum results. Objective: Finding out of the effect of Benson relaxation therapy and classical music therapy in reducing pain scale in ACS patients in ICCU Room Dr. Sudirman Kebumen Hospital Method: This research was an experimental research with the quasi-experiment method. A sample of 52 patients consists of 26 control groups and 26 intervention groups that be taken by consecutive sampling. Results: The pain level of an ACS patient before given a Benson relaxation, intervention with Mozart's classical music therapy is moderate pain and after being given an intervention, it becomes mild pain. Conclusion: There is an effect of Benson relaxation therapy accompanied by Mozart classical music therapy on the pain level of ACS patients with a value of p = 0,000. Recommendation: It expects that the Hospital can implement Benson relaxation therapy combined with classical music to reduce pain in ACS patients according to SOP.
