Abstract

Background: Lifestyle is an important factor which influences people's lives. Unhealthy lifestyle can be a cause of hypertension. The wrong diet is one of the risk factors that increase hypertension. Increased blood pressure is influenced by several risk factors, including age, sex, family history, genetics (risk factors that cannot be changed / controlled) and lifestyle, such as smoking, salt consumption, saturated fat consumption, use of waste cooking, consumption habits alcoholic drinks, obesity, lack of physical activity, stress, use of estrogen. Objective: to know the influence of lifestyle, on the incidence of Essential Hypertension, at the community health center, Punggelan 1 Banjarnegara. Method: this study used the Correlation Analytical research method with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was sampling technique, in this study taking all patients with essential hypertension who conducted an examination at the public health center Punggelan 1 Banjarnegara. The numbers of samples in this study were 101 respondents. Research Results: the results of this study, obtained that most of the blood pressure is Stage I Hypertension (61.4%). BMI (Body Mass Index), mostly BMI <25 kg / m2 (87.1%). Eating patterns mostly in the unhealthy category (77%). most do not have physical activity (78%). Smoking, not smoking (77.2%). Alcohol consumption, not alcohol consumption (93%). Stress, normal (37%). While the significance value of p-value IMT = 0,000, eating pattern p-value = 0,000, physical activity p-value = 0,000, smoking p-value = 0,000, alcohol consumption p-value = 0.954 and stress p-value = 0,000. Conclusion: The results obtained by BMI, physical activity, smoking and stress have an influence there is an incidence of Essential Hypertension, at the community health center Punggelan 1 Banjarnegara.
