Abstract

Background : PCC is a new method that positons patients as centers or centers of health services in hospitals. PCC to foster reciprocal relationships between service providers and patients so that it will reduce conflicts that have arisen due to lack of communication and information. Communication , attitude, caring and empathy are still maintained even if the patient is in critical condition or unconscious. Research Objectives : To determine the level of knowledge and support provided by nurses in the Intensive Care Installation (IRI) room. Research Method : Descriptive research design with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study as nurses in the (IRI) romm of 43 respondents, with a total sampling technique. The research instrument used 10 queations od knowledge and 34 question of emotional support. Results : The data analysis technique used wa univariate analysis by displaying a frequency distribution table. The result of the characteristics of IRI nurse respondents were more 28 women (65,1%), last education S1 Nursing/Nursing 28 (65,1%), length of work ≥5 years 24 (55,8%), age 36-45 years 24 (55,8%), matiral status 39 (90,7%). The results of nurses’ knowledge showed that most were sufficient about PFCC 22 (51,2%), and emotional support in the sufficient category 40 (93,0%). Conclusion : this research is used as a basis for knowledge and emotional support in the dimension of patient family centered care, most of which fall into the sufficient category. Recommendation : for further reseachers who have themes related to this study, it is expected that there will be observations to nurses about PFCC.
