Abstract
Background : Hypertension is a state of increased systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic more than equal to 90 mmHg. The function of family health care for adherence to take anti-hypertensive medication at Doplang Village of Purworejo is 0.04% of families who do not understand the importance of taking hypertension medication and they are not compliant to undergo treatment. The function of family care in ensuring family health is not optimal. The function of the family is to identify health problems, decide on appropriate actions for the family, provide care for sick families, modify the family environment to ensure family health and use health services. Objectives : To determine the relationship of the function of family health care with adherence to taking anti-hypertensive medication in Posbindu participants at Doplang village. Methods : This type of research is a correlation descriptive study with cross sectional research design with the Spearman Rank test with a significant level of 5%. The population in this study was 80 people and the number of samples used was 69 people taken by cluster random sampling technique. Research result : Statistical test results of the relationship of the function of family health care with adherence to take anti-hypertensive drugs in the postbindu at Doplang Village of Purworejo using the Spearman test obtained p-value = 0.018. The p-value = 0.018 is smaller than 0.05 (p = 0.000 <0.05) indicating that there is a relationship between the function of family health care and adherence to take anti-hypertensive medication in Posbindu Subdistrict, at Doplang of Purworejo. Conclusion : The conclusion of this study that there is a relationship between the function of family health care with adherence to take anti-hypertensive medication in Posbindu, at Doplang Village of Purworejo. Recommendation : It is recommended that families optimize the function of family health care to improve patient compliance in taking anti-hypertensive medication.
