Abstract
Background: Nursing action in the hospital is a procedure that causes anxiety and fear to children. If the children’s anxiety and fear are not be overcome from the very beginning, it will raise a negative efect, that is reducing the intensity of therapy and care during the healing period in the hospital. Of on the ways to reduce thet childrens anxiety is by giving a unique and attractive thing, for example by watching animation movie. Objective: To determine the impact of watching animated video toward children’s anxiety during the iv bolus injection in purwogondo public hospital. Methods: The design of this study was a quasi experiment with a nonequivalent posttest design only. This study involved 44 samples taken at random simple. The instrument in this study was the Oppo S1 cellphone as a tool for playing upin ipin cartoon films singing Asmaul Husna as well as a tool for listening to children's songs. Meanwhile, the instrument used for measuring the children’s anxiety at the time of the IV bolus injection was the Facial Image Scale (FIS). The statistical test used was the independent t-test. Results: There was an effect of watching animation videos toward children’s at the time of IV Bolus injection (p = 0.000). Based on age and sex, it shows that most children aged 3-4 years (59.1%) and male (54.5%). The treatment group showed that most children (72.7%) were not very anxious at the time of bolus IV injection. In the control group, most children (68.2%) had mild anxiety at the time of bolus IV injection. Conclusion: Watching the animation Upin Ipin film singing Asmaul Husna for 10 minutes is more effective in preventing anviety during IV bolus injection compsred with listening to children's songs. Recommendation: The results of this study can be used as a reference for hospitals to formulate SPO in the implementation of invasive measures, thsts in watching animation video as an intervention for pre-school children when performing IV Bolus injection.
