Abstract

Background:Tooth extraction in one of the actions that can lead to anxiety. Anxiety experienced by children when they are dailing with tooth extraction causes them to be uncooperative. Anxiety is influenced by various factors. Objective: To give a description of the factors influencing children’s anxiety level in dailing with tooth extraction. Method: This is a descriptive study using cross sectional approach. The samples consisted of 91 children that were taken by using random sampling technique. Results: 59 respondents (64.8%) were 6-7 years old and mostly were female (50 children or 54.9%). 54 children (59.3%) were worried about tooth extraction. 91 children (100%) did not have traumatic experience about tooth extraction. 35 children (38,5%) were influenced by family and friends. 47 children (51,6%) felt worry about dental care tools. 53 children (58,2%) were influenced by the personality factor. 57 children (57,1%) felt worry about pain. 50 children (54,9%) felt worry that the wound cause hemorrhage. Recommendation: The official of Buayan Public health center is recomended to modify the dental clinic room with some ornaments or decoration that can shift children’s attention from focusing on the medication conducted by the dentist
