Abstract

Background: Kidney failure is a health problem that causes kidney failure in maintaining metabolism and fluid and electrolyte balance, patients who experience kidney failure must hemodialysis. Hemodialysis therapy is a therapy to cleanse the blood of toxins using a machine and cause complications in the condition of his body, so many patients fail patients who experience psychosocial from anxiety to depression. If the patient does not have good coping, it will affect the quality of life, the better the individual coping, the better the quality of life of the patient. Objective: To find out psychosocial and quality of life in hemodialysis patients at Dr. Soedirman Kebumen Hospital. Method: This type of research used in this research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. This research uses a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was 139 patients. This sample was taken using total sampling. The questionnaire expected in this study uses DASS to measure anxiety and the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire to determine the quality of life of patients.Data analysis is done by using computer programm is SPSS. Results: Based on the research conducted, it was found that the majority of kidney failure respondents hemodialysis were mostly middle aged respondents of 87 (62.6%), male sex as many as 94 (67.6%), working as entrepreneurs a number of 57 respondents ( 41.0), having a junior high school education were 51 respondents (36.7%) and the majority had hemodialysis for more than 1 year many as 71 respondents (51.1%). Psychosocial in kidney failure patients hemodialysis that most experienced normal anxiety as many as 28 respondents (20.1%). kidney failure patients hemodialysis that the quality of life of patients hemodialysis had the most good quality of life as many as 51 respondents (36.7%).
