Abstract
Background : Hypertension is a disease where an increase in blood pressure above normal can occur to anyone and if not treated immediately it will be fatal Research purposes : to determine the relationship of family support and motivation to adhere to antihypertensive medication in hypertensive patients. Research Method: using descriptive correlation method. Research in January – February 2020. In the region Puskesmas II Sumpiuh. Research result : The results of the study in the statistical test obtained by the Chi Square correlation value obtained p value 0.001 <0.05 this shows there is a significant relationship between respondent family support with adherence to antihypertensive treatment in hypertensive patients. Statistical test results obtained by Chi Square correlation value obtained p value 0,000 <0.05, this shows there is a significant relationship between motivation with adherence to anti-hypertensive treatment in hypertensive patients. Conclusion : There is a relationship of family support and motivation for antihypertensive medication adherence in hypertensive patients in the Work Area of Sumpiuh II Health Center Recommendation: The next researcher is expected to use other variables related to medication adherence in hypertensive patients.
