Abstract

Background ; Medicinal plants are plants that have medicinal properties and are used for generations as well as personal experiences, can reduce, eliminate and cure diseases. Ethnobotany studies are conducted to document public knowledge about medicinal plants. Research Purposes ; The purpose of this research is to find out the knowledge and ways of utilizing the community regarding medicinal plants. Research Methods ; The research method used was to use the snowball sampling method with semi-structured interviews. The respondents used were 50 people from Argosari, Tlagasari, Candirenggo, Jatijajar and Mangunweni villages in the District of Kebumen Regency. Research Result ; The results of this study are people who use medicinal plants aged 46 - 55 years, high level of knowledge of women 72%, because the livelihood of men as farmers is 22%. he highest level of education is elementary school 58%. There are 62 medicinal plants used, consisting of 38 families. The most widely used family Zingiberaceae 12,9%, the leaf part 53,2% is widely used, by means of processing 45,2% boiled and its use is drunk 59,7%. Habistus herb are 35,5% and cultivated. Utilization of medicinal plants is used for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, PPOK and cancer. Conclusion ; The conclusion of this research is 62 types of plants from 38 families, Zingiberaceae is mostly found, the parts used are leaves, how to process boiled and drunk. Medicinal plants such as herb habistus and cultivated. Utilization of medicinal plants is used for various types of diseases.
