Abstract

Background, TB disease is still a public health problem in the world and causes high rates of morbidity and mortality. TB cases in Indonesia are ranked 3rd in the world with a total of 845.000 people after India and China. Approximately 75% of TB patients are in the productive age group of 15-50. Compliance in the use of drugs is very important and needs to be evaluated to increase success in treatment. Purpose, to determine the level of adherence and the relationship of patient characteristics with the level of adherence to taking medication for TB patients. Method, this research method is non-experimental observational with descriptive method. Samples was taken by total sampling method. The data obtained were analyzed using univariate (descriptive) and bivariate (Chi-square). Results, there are 15 people (37,5%) with high compliance, 25 people (62,5%) with moderate compliance, and no respondent has low compliance. There is a significant relationship betwen patient characteristics (age, education, time of treatment, and PMO) with the level of adherance and the is no significant relationship beetwen patient charactersistics (gender, occupation, income, distance from home, and comoridities) with the level of adherance. Conclusion, the level of adherence to the use of anti tuberculosis drugs in outpatient adults TB patients at Dr. Soedirman has a modertae level of compliance with 25 people (62,5%). Recommendation, it is necessary to do further research related to the factors that affect compliance, add othe variabels related to the level of compliance, and be conducted using the interview method
