Abstract

Background: Using Over the counter and limited free medicines generally commonly used to overcome various diseases that are used typically by the community to treat a disease or symptoms of disease sufferers. The drug can be used without consult first from the doctor. Purpose: to knowledge level of Using over the counter and limited free medicines toward community of Karangsambung Village Kebumen Regency Method: the design was used in the study of observational research descriptive with utilize the cross sectional Results: results of the questionnaire was obtained at community knowledge Using Over the counter and Limited Free Medicines to the idea that the type of medicines pain and fever using paracetamol as much as 74,7 %, on the use of a drug cough use OBH combi as much as 29.5 %, The type of medicines that used by respondents at the digestive tract is the cure promag were 62,1%. The result of the questionnaire was on the question characteristics of respondents to over the counter and limited free medicines respondents that obtains information from medical workers Were 48.4 %, a number of respondents acquired a drug of the apothecary were 64 people ( 67.4 % ). Suggestion: The level of knowledge of the use of Over the counter and limited free medicines to the village of Karangsambung Kebumen regency included in the category of sufficient 37,9%. The type of medicines free and drug free a finite being used on the community is medicine pain and fever, cough medicine and medical supplies. On the outcome of test chi square there are a significant relation exists between age, work, and income education and there did not appear a significant relation exists.
