Abstract

Background: Traditional medicine has been known for a long time and has been passed down from generation to generation by the community. Ethnobotany studies can be a barometer to record people's knowledge in using plants as medicine. So it is necessary to exploit the benefits, cultivation & recording of medicinal plants as local knowledge of the Klirong District Community. Research objectives: To identify and document the plants used by the people of Klirong District, Kebumen Regency. Research Method: Descriptive-Qualitative survey technique, themethod Snowball Sampling with semi-structured interviews accompanied by a questionnaire. Research Results: Based on the results of the study obtained 105 plant species consisting of 54 families that are used as medicine. The family Zingiberaceae (11.4%) was the most widely used, the part that was mostly used was the leaves (44.8%), end: terna (24.8%), cooking method: boiled (61.0%), method of use: drunk (67.6%). Conclusion: There are 105 types of plants consisting of 54 families of plants that are used by the community. The most widely used is thefamily of Zingiberaceae. The part that is used the most is the leaves, the finished herb, the method of processing it is boiled and the method of use is drinking. Recommendation: It is hoped that this research can be used as the basis for further research on ethnobotanical studies of medicinal plants.
