Abstract

Jackfruit leaf (Artocarpus heterophyllus L.) is a natural plant that contains flavonoids that can be used as an analgesic. The purpose of this study was to determine the aquadest extract of jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus L.) has analgesic activity against male swiss strain mice. The method used in the analgesic test was the chemical stimulation method using 1% acetic acid on 25 male white swiss mice which were divided into 5 treatment groups.Group I as a positive control (mefenamic acid), Group II as a negative control (CMC-Na), Groups III, IV and V as aquadest extract of jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus L.) with doses of 125, 250 and 250 mg/ kgBB. The test material was given orally, after 30 minutes the test animals were induced with 1% acetic acid pain stimulant intraperitoneally. The test animals were then observed for stretching of each group every 30 minutes for 120 minutes. Data from the study which was in the form of cumulative stretching was then calculated for its analgesic power (% of analgesic effect protection). Based on the results of statistical tests showed that the positive control had a significant difference at a dose of 125 mg/kgBB with p>0.05 but did not have a significant difference at a dose of 250 and 500 mg/kgBB did not have a significant difference with p<0.05. The results showed that the aquadest extract of jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus L.) doses of 250 and 500 mg/kgBB had the best analgesic effect with a percentage of analgesic protection of 81.28% and 86.44% compared to a dose of 125 mg/KgBB.
