Abstract

Background, Analgesics are one of the drugs used independently for the community to reduce pain disorders or other symptoms that are often experienced. Currently many use pain medications, in pharmacies or drug stores that sell freely without using a doctor's prescription. Research Objectives, This study aims to find out the level of knowledge of pangestu buayan pharmacy customers to the image of self-remedication of analgesics. Research Methods, This study uses descriptive observation research methods, which are conducted to find out the picture of a problem. Sampling technique using solvin formula is sampling based on criteria both inclusion criteria and exclusion. Research Results, The results of the research obtained are the level of knowledge of respondents who have a level of good knowledge or understanding as many as 36 respondents with a percentage of 46.8% of respondents, the level of knowledge is quite understanding as much as 40 respondents with a percentage of 52% of respondents, while less understanding as much as 1 respondent with a percentage of 1.2% of respondents. This study did not have a significant relationship between the characteristics of respondents (Gender, Age, Education, and Occupation) to the description of the level of knowledge of analgesic selfmedication in customers of Pangestu Buayan Pharmacy, Kebumen Regency. Conclusion, The level of knowledge of visitors or customers of Pangestu Buayan Pharmacy to analgesic selfmedication as much as 52% in the category is quite understandable, as much as 46.8% in the good category, while the category of lack of understanding is only 1.2%. There was no significant relationship between the respondent's level of knowledge and the respondent's characteristics.
