Abstract

Background: Indonesia has many natural resources, one of which is medicinal plants. The use of medicinal plants for generations has been carried out by the community, especially in the Pejagoan district. Ethnobotanical studies can be used as guidelines in the effort to preserve medicinal plants as knowledge of traditional medicine and as alternative medicine. Research Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out what plants are used as medicine and how to process these plants by the community. Research Methods: This research is a qualitative descriptive study, conducted by snowball sampling method through interview techniques to 100 respondents obtained from Karangpoh, Jemur, Kebagoran, Peniron, and Watulawang Villages. Research Results: The results of the study contained 108 types of medicinal plants which were divided into 48 families. The most widely used medicinal plants are the Zingiberaceae family and types of herbs. The part of the plant that is widely used is the leaf with the boiled processing technique. Medicinal plants are widely used by drinking. Conclusion: There are 108 types of medicinal plants which are divided into 48 families where the most widely used is the Zingiberaceae family. The part that is widely used by the community is the leaves by boiling which are used by drinking. Recommendation: It is necessary to conduct further research related to more detailed methods of use and screening related to the content of medicinal plants.
