Abstract

Bacground, Soursop leaf (Annona muricata L) is one of the plants that is efficacious as an analgesic or relieving pain. Pain is an emotional and sensory experience related to tissue and gives a sign that there are disturbances in the body. Purpose, This study aims to determine the analgesic activity of soursop leaf aquadest extract (Annona muricata L) against male mice by writhing test method. Method, This research was conducted using chemical stimulation method on 25 male Swiss strain mice which were divided into 5 treatment groups. Group I as positive control (mefenamic acid), group II as negative control (CMC Na 1%), groups III, IV, and V as extracts at a dose of 1.5 g/Kg BW, 3 g/Kg BW, and 6 g/Kg BW. The test solution was given orally 30 minutes before pain was induced using 1% acetic acid. Observations were made for 10 minutes and were induced, then stretching was observed for 2 hours, marked by the pulling of the legs back until the abdomen touched the bottom of the space occupied. calculate the percent protection of each test solution. The data obtained were then statistically tested with One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc Games- Howell. Results, The results showed that the aquadest extract of soursop leaf (Annona muricata L) at a dose of 6 g/Kg BW had good analgesic activity because it had the highest percentage of protection because it could reduce the stretching of the test animals better. All treatment groups had significant differences with negative control (p<0.05). positive control had a significant difference with the extract dose of 6 g/Kg BW with p 0.48 < 0.05. Conclusion, Based on the research, the analgesic effect of soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L) is best at a dose of 6g/Kg BW with a percent protection value of 95.8% and has a better analgesic effect than positive control. Suggestion, further research needs to be done using different analgesic methods and it is necessary to do a toxicity test on soursop leaf aquadest extract
