Abstract
Background: Ganitri plant (Elaeocarpus ganitirus Roxb) has properties that can be used to overcome health problems, one of wich is as an anti-inflammatory. The Purpose: of this research is to make a gel preparation of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb) leaf aquadest extract gel with a stability test that meets tha requirements and to make a gel formulation of Ganitri leaf (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb) aquadest extract which has an anti-inflammatory effect on induced Wistar white rats that induced carrageenan. Research method: this research was carried out by extracting ganitri leaves using distilled water, then extract concentrations of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg were made into formulations. The anti-inflammatory activity was tested using the 1% carrageenin method. Results: Showed that the aquadest extract of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb) leaves 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg could be made into a gel that met the physical evaluation requirements except for the viscosity and gel formulation of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb) aquadest extract with doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg has an anti-inflammatory effect with DAI percent of 39, 46, 45, 93 and 51.14%. The data obtained using statistical test showed that the data obtained were normal with P value>0.05 and homogeneous data with P value 0.283>0.05 with positive control having a signifivcant difference with formula 1 and negative control. Conclusion: all ganitri leaf extract gel formulas have an anti-inflammatory effect. Recommendations: It is necessary to do further research using different ectraction methods and different anti-inflammatory test methods.
