Abstract

Background: Problems at the stage of adolescent development are very complex, especially regarding health problems, one of which is anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is the second leading cause of death and disability in adolescents. The pravalence of anemia in Kebumen among adolescent girls aged 10-19 years is around 29,88%. One of the efforts to prevent and improve adolescent health requires an important role from the family because the family is part of the support system for the health of family members Purpose: Describe family nursing care of teenagers with ineffective health maintenance in anemia adolescents Method: This research uses case study method. The data collection process used interview, observation and physical examination techniques. Respondents in this study consisted of 3 families who have adolescents with anemia. The intervention given to resolve the ineffectiveness of health maintenance in adolescents with anemia is red guava juice therapy for 1 week. Case Study Results: This research uses case study method. After carrying out nursing care for 5 times with the problem of ineffective health maintenance in adolescents with anemia, it can be partially resolved through health education and the provision of red guava juice therapy. Red guava juice therapy was able to increase the respondent’s Hb from 10,8 g/dl and 9,5 g/dl to 12,5 g/dl and 12,2 g/dl. Conclusion: The problem of ineffective health maintenance through red guava juice therapy can overcome the incidence of anemia in adolescents
