Abstract

Background : Injuries are common in children. Injuries are the 3rd of 10 causes of death that are mostly experienced by toddlers with a national prevalence of 7.5% and an increase in 2013 of 8,5%. Injuries will not occur if parents have good knowledge about the prevention and management of preschool-age children’s injuries. Purpose : Describes nursing care for families of preschool children with nursing problems at risk of injury in Caruban Village, Adimulyo District. Methode : This research uses descriptive analysis method with a case study approach. The subjects of this case study were 3 families of preschool children. Data analysis and data presentation used is using narrative techniques. Result : Health education can increase knowledge so that it can affect the attitude of mothers in preventing and handling injuries to children. Before health education was carried out, the mother’s level of knowledge was quite 10 (50%). After health education was carried out for 2x visit for 25 minutes, the results showed that the mother’s level of knowledge increased better by 20 (100%). Recommendation : Health education to increase mother’s knowledge about prevention and management of injuries in preschool children.
