Abstract

Background: Childbirth is the first experience so that it can cause stress during labor and after delivery. Stress experienced by post partum mothers can increase cortisol hormone levels which causes decreased levels of oxytocin hormone, resulting in delayed onset of lactation. Normal post partum mothers and caesarean section experienced some physiological changes that caused the production of breast milk to be hampered. Actions that can be taken to increase milk production are consuming foods that are high in protein and rolling back massage which can provide a relaxed sensation to the mother so as to smoothen the flow of the milk ducts in both breasts which can stimulate the oxytocin reflex so that milk comes out smoothly. Objective: Description of Nursing Care for Post Partum Mothers with Ineffective Breastfeeding in Primiparous Mothers Method: The method used in this research is descriptive observation method with a case study approach. The subjects of this case study were 3 clients of post partum mothers with ineffective breastfeeding. Data analysis and data presentation used are narrative techniques. Result: The author establishes a diagnosis of ineffective breastfeeding related to insufficient breast milk supply. Rolling back massage therapy to increase production, the authors carry out innovative rolling back massage actions for post partum mothers with breastfeeding ineffectiveness, namely the client feels pain in the breast area, the breast looks red and feels hard, after it is done Rolling back massage therapy is very effective for post partum mothers because breast milk can come out smoothly, pain is reduced in the breast area and swelling is reduced. Recommendation: Rolling back massage therapy to facilitate the amount of breast milk in post partum mothers.
