Abstract

Background : Fracture is a fracture caused by physical exertion or trauma. One of the signs and symptoms caused by a fracture is pain. Pain must be treated immediately so as not to interfere with the healing process. One of the therapies to reduce pain is nonpharmacological therapy, namely classical music therapy. Classical music therapy is an independent therapy that is easy to do and very influential in reducing pain because it can distract or distract the patient so that it can be distracted from the pain that is felt. Objective : To describe nursing care with the application of classical music therapy to reduce pain in fracture patients in the ER PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods : This study uses a case study method with a descriptive method. The data collection process uses interview, observation, and documentation studies. Respondents of this study consisted of 3 fracture patients with pain. Giving classical music therapy using media mp3 player and headset. Pain was measured using NRS and recorded in the observation sheet for 3 days. Case Study Results : After being given classical music therapy for 3 days, it was found that the pain felt by the three fracture patients decreased. Patient one on a scale of 6 to a scale of 2, patient 2 of a scale of 5 to a scale of 2, and patient 3 of a scale of 5 to 2. Conclusion : Giving classical music therapy is effective to reduce the pain felt in fracture patients from moderate pain to mild pain.
