Abstract

Background: Hyperemesis Gravidarum is excessive nausea and vomiting that occurs in mothers Excessive pregnancy causes discomfort and interferes with daily activities because her physical condition becomes weak due to dehydration. Hyperemesis Gravidarum causes psychological, social, and spiritual impacts, psychologically hyperemesis gravidarum can cause anxiety, emotional feelings and anger. If nausea and vomiting complaints are getting worse. To overcome this case, the authors are interested in implementing the application of non-pharmacological therapy for relaxation of lemon essential oil to cure nausea and vomiting complaints in first trimester pregnant women. Objective: To provide an overview of nursing care withproblems hyperemesis gravidarum in first trimester pregnant women. Methods: This study uses a descriptive method. With a case study design. The subjects of this case study were 3 respondents withproblems hyperemesis gravidarum. Data obtained through the results of the Rhodes INVR questionnaire score (Index Nausea Vomiting and Retching). Results: After finding the signs and symptoms, the author took the main diagnosis of nausea associated with pregnancy, then applied non-pharmacological therapy for relaxation of lemon essential oil. Of the 3 respondents experienced a significant decrease in the level of nausea and vomiting seen from the results of a decrease in the questionnaire score for 5 visits. In the evaluation carried out for 5 visits in providing therapy, 3 respondents said they had no nausea and vomiting, improved appetite, and could carry out activities independently. Recommendation: Lemon essential oil aromatherapy can be used as a non-pharmacological treatment for pregnant women with nausea and vomiting.
