Abstract

Background : Simple Foot Elevator (SFE) is a tool to facilitate the treatment of diabetic ulcers by lifting the foot and maintaining it until the end of treatment without causing pain or fatigue for both the patient and the nurse. Objective : Describes a case study on the application of Simple Foot Elevator (SFE) in the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus. Methods : In this case, the data collection method in scientific work is by means of observation, interviews, and data collection. The data obtained are the results of interviews and observations of patients. Instruments used : patient data assessment forms, wound care kits, and Simple Foot Elevator (SFE) tools. The number of subjects is 3 respondents and the implementation is carried out for 3 meeting for 1 week. Results : Perform wound care actions using the application a Simple Foot Elevatro (SFE). The results of the evaluation of nursing care showed that the feeling of pain in the respondent was reduced after wound care was carried out using the application of Simple Foot Elevator (SFE) and could carry out light activities at home with the help of his family. Recommendation : Routine wound care with the apllication of Simple Foot Elevator (SFE) to reduce pain and perform light activities with the help of the family.
