Abstract
Background :Edged water sponge is one of the non-pharmacological methods used to reduce body temperature by wiping the whole body by compressing certain parts with warm water for a certain period of time. heat, so the brain will immediately respond by producing cold and then the body temperature will decrease. Warm compresses applied to the vascular area willthink the body temperature outside is hot, so the brain will immediately respond by producing cold and then the body temperature will decrease. Warm compresses applied to the vascular area will expand vasodilation. Purpose :Describes nursing care with the tepid water sponge procedure in the process of decreasing body temperature in children with fever Method:This research uses descriptive method, the data collection process uses interview and observation techniques.Respondents in this study consisted of 3 mothers who had children aged 1-5 years who had a fever above 38.5℃. The decrease in the child's body temperature using the tepid water sponge therapy, with the effectiveness of this therapy measured by the child's body temperature. Case Study Results :After being treated with tepid water sponge on a child with fever for 3 days, the results showed that the child's temperature decreased by an average of 39.1℃ to 36.6℃. Conclusion :Tepid water sponge therapy is effective in reducing the body temperature of children with fever.
