Abstract
Background: Motivation is needed to everything including to undergo hemodialysis therapy. Hemodialysis is a kind of kidney replacement therapy done for 2 – 3 times a week. Patients undergoing this therapy are definitely experiencing bored, but there are many patients who keep having the therapy and high spirit. Objectives: To determine correlated factors and the dominant with patients’ motivation to undergo hemodialysis therapy at Dr. Soedirman Kebumen State Hospital. Methods: The present study used analytical correlation with cross sectional approach. The samples consisted of 50 respondents taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using bivariate analysis by Spearman Rank and multivariate analysis by Logistic Regression with forward model. Results: There were significant correlation between family support and motivation (p=0,000), and service access and motivation (p=0,016). There were no correlation between necessities and motivation (p=0,221), and nurses’ service and motivation (p=0,555). Conclusion : Service access and family support were corrrelated with patients’ motivation to undergo haemodyalisis therapy. The most dominant factor was family support.
