Abstract
Background: Hand washing is an act of washing hands using water to clean hands from dirt, dust and germs. One technique to increase knowledge of hand washing is to use the audiovisual method. Research Overview: Describing nursing care of clients with the readiness of handwashing knowledge in pre-school age children with diarrhea using audiovisual methods. Research Methods: This scientific paper was written using a case study method with a descriptive approach. Data obtained from the results of interviews and observations on clients. Instruments used: compliance observation sheet in performing hand hygiene, demographic data of respondents. The number of subjects there are 3 respondents and the implementation was carried out for 3 visits. Case Study Results: Perform compliance actions in performing hand hygiene with 6 steps. The results of the evaluation of nursing care showed an increase in knowledge of hand washing in client I from 5 steps to 6 steps, client II from 1 step to 6 steps, client III from 3 steps to 6 steps. Recommendation: The provision of knowledge fulfillment actions with the audiovisual method is recommended as one of the routine programs of clean and healthy living behavior.
