Abstract

Background : Hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure in the blood vessels is chronically elevated. Where systolic blood pressure is more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure is more than 90 mmHg. To lowerblood pressure can be done by applying slow deep breathing therapy with a combination of classical music. Objective : Describes the application of Slow Deep Breathing therapy with a combination of classical music on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Method : This scientific paper is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained from case study studies, assessment sheets, direct observation of 3 clients with hypertension in Kedungbenda village, Nusawungu sub- district for 3 meetings with an implementation time of 30 minutes. The instruments used are the headset, cell phone, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, blood pressure observation sheet, stationery, and SOP for slow deep breathing therapy with a combination of classical music. Results : The results of the evaluation conducted for 3 meetings showed that there was a decrease in blood pressure using slow deep breathing therapy with a combination of classical music. Judging from the results of the average blood pressure of the three clients on the first day 162/99 mmHg to 152/93 mmHg. On the second day 152/92 mmHg to 146/89 mmHg On the third day 143/87 mmHg to 136/85 mmHg. Recommendation : Slow deep breathing therapy with a combination of classical music for 30 minutes is used to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients and is applied both in hospitals and in the community.
