Abstract

Background: Anxiety is one of the physiological changes that happens to pregnant mothers at the time of delivery. They may have effects of anxiety which will increase pain during delivery. Besides, their muscles will become tense and they will get tired quickly. Application of 5 finger-hypnosis is needed to overcome this enxiety. Objective: To analyze nursing care for pregnant mothers in trimester III who suffer from anxiety by applying 5 finger hypnosis. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case-study. Data were obtained from assessment sheets and observation. The instruments used were DASS scale, SOP of 5 finger hypnosis. The respondents were 3 pregnant mothers in trimester III who met inclusion criteria. Result: After having 5 finger-hypnosis, there was a decrease in anxiety level of all respondets: from moderate became mild anxiety with a value of 7 (respondent 1), from mild anxiety became normal with of value 3 (respondent 2 ) and from mild anxiety became normal with of value 4 (respondent 3). Furthermore, they all can do 5 finger-hypnosis by themselves (score 100%). Recommendation: Application of 5 finger-hypnosis is suggestable for hospitals and the community in the effort of decreasing anxiety of pregnant mothers in trimster III.
