Abstract
Background: Stroke is a disease that affects the nervous system due to disruption or cessation of blood flow to the brain. Stroke patients usually experience health problems and psychosocial problems, namely situational low self-esteem. General Purpose of Writing: To describe nursing care for situational low selfesteem of stroke patients with the application of positive affirmation therapy. Writing Method: This scientific paper is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained from case study studies, assessment sheets, and direct observation of patient assessments. Three clients with stroke in Balingasal village, Padureso sub-district for 5 meetings, for a 30-minute meeting. The provision of affirmation therapy was carried out 4 times for 15 minutes using the instrument for signs and symptoms of low self-esteem and positive affirmation SOPs. Case Study Results: The results of the evaluation carried out for 5 meetings, showed that there was a decrease in signs and symptoms of low self-esteem in client 3 who previously received 12 scores to 2 scores and there was an increase in positive affirmation therapy in client 3 who previously received 0 scores to 4 scores. Recommendation: Positive affirmation therapy is used for clients with situational low self-esteem and can be applied both in the hospital and in the community.
