Abstract

Background: Based on the result of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) it was found that the percetage of undernourished and malnourished children under five in Indonesia in 2018 was 17,8% with a prevalence of 3,8% and 14,0% undernutrition. High enough. One of the efforts to improve toddler nutrition include health education to mothers through increased knowledge. Objective: Describing family nursing care in the developmental stage of preschool chilldren with the ineffectiveness of health care in mulnourish children. Method: This case study used a descriptive method, data collection by interview and questionnaire techniques. The subject of the case study is a mother who has a preschool child with the nutritional problem who have decreased appetite and weight, by providing health education twice. Results: after being given family nursing care with evaluation results for 5 meetings, it showed that the mother’s level of knowledge increased as evidenced by pre-test dan post questionaire sheets. In the first fostered family increased by 18,75%, the second fostered family 25% and the results obtained were more increased in the second fostered family and the third fostered family 12,5%. The results obtained were more increased in the second fostered family compared to the first and third foster families. Recommendation: for mothers who have preschool children to increase motivation to seek the latest information on health problems to increase mother’s knowledge about nutrition problems in children.
