Abstract

Background: Asthma is a disease that is familiar in the community which causes a decrease in the quality of life of the community. Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that can cause bronchial hypersensitivity to various stimuli and airway obstruction which causes symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness, especially at night or early morning which is generally reversible. Objective: To describe ineffective airway clearance nursing care for bronchial asthma patients at Karanggayam II Public Health Center Method: The method used in this research is descriptive method, descriptive method is a method of describing the current situation based on existing problems, with a case study approach. The case study subjects in this study were 3 patients who suffered from asthma with ineffective airway clearance problems. Analysis and presentation of the data used is using narrative techniques. Results: After nursing care for asthma patients obtained assessment data, asthmatic patients experience recurrence of asthma 1-3 times a week with signs that appear, namely, wezzing, coughing, difficult discharge, tachypnea, weakness and dizziness with the diagnosis of airway clearance. Ineffective can be resolved with deep breathing therapy for 15 minutes with 3 visits. Conclusion: deep breathing therapy to reduce signs and symptoms and prevent recurrence in asthmatics.
