Abstract

Background: In the last decade, the incidence of post partum blues in In Indonesia was 50-70% (Hidayat, 2007). Post Partum Blues (PPB) is a syndrome of psychological disorders with mild effects that often appear on the first week after delivery. This will peak on the third day until the fifth and will last within 14 days after delivery (Afrian, 2012). One of the distraction techniques to overcome this post partum blues is by applying murrotal therapy. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of murrota l therapy in preventing post partumblues of Mrs. I a 22 year-old post partum mother with P1 A0 Ah1 in private midwifery clinic of Midwife Durrotul. M, Amd. Kebat Kenteng, Sempor, Kebumen. Method: This scientific paper is descriptive qualitative with case study method. The data was obtained through interviews and questionnaires. Result: After having murrotal therapy, Mrs. I could be more relaxed, felt comfortable, and gradually she had no more trauma. The therapy had been conducted for the 2 weeks (March 26 up to April 8, 2016). Conclusion: Murrotal therapy was in fact effective to overcome the post partum blues of Mrs. I. It was indicated by the result of the therapy.
