Abstract

Background: COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) is a disease that is contagious due to a virus that attacks the health of the human body in the respiratory system. This coronavirus related to its spread can be said to be quite massive in the world and become a topic of conversation that is quite warm. The COVID-19 virus is currently spreading and spreading widely to communities around the world. The use of masks is one of the efforts to reduce and prevent from exposure to droplets or sparks of others. Based on research on influenza, influenza-like illness, and coronavirus, data on the use of masks provides a prevention in transmission through droplets of infection from people who have been infected and from environmental factors. Purpose: This study was conducted to find out the relationship of public perception with compliance with the use of masks as an effort to prevent Covid-19 in Buniayu village of Banyumas District Tambak District. Methods: This research used a correlative descriptive research design with a Cross-Sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Calculation of samples used the formula Slovin and obtained a sample of 98 people. This study uses kuisoner as a data collection tool and analyzed univariate and bivariate. Results: The perception of the people of Buniayu village of Tambak District of Banyumas Regency about the knowledge and prevention of Covid-19 is in the category of good perception (87.8%), the level of community compliance about the importance of the use of masks in the compliant category (94.9%) and bivariate analysis obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.208 which means the relationship of the two variables is unidirectional because it is positive with a value of p value = 0.040 (<0.05) Conclusion: The results of the statistical test mentioned that there is a relationship between people's perceptions and compliance with the use of masks as an effort to prevent Covid-19 in Buniayu village of Banyumas District Tambak District. Recommendation: For further researchers are expected to be able to conduct research using other methods to find out people's perceptions.
