Abstract
Background: Scabies is an infectious disease caused by the infestation of Sarcoptes scabiei hominis variant on the skin which is characterized by itching and skin eruptions. One of the factors that may affect the incidence of scabies is persona l hygiene and environmental sanitation. Objective: Determining the relationship of personal hygine students and environmental sanitation with the incidence of scabies in adolescent students Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Huda in the village of the District Welahan Adipala. Research Methods: This study used a quantitative correlation method using a crosssectional design, the sampling technique used a total sampling with a sample of 76 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire Results: The results of the study obtained personal hygiene with good categories of 30 students (39.5%), enough for 44 students (57.9%), and less than 2 students (2.6%). For the incidence of scabies in the category that experienced scabies as many as 41 (53.9%), and the category that did not experience scabies as many as 35 (46.1%), for unhealthy environmental sanitation the results were 32 (42.1%) and healthy sanitation as many as 44 (57.9%). The results of the chi-square analysis of personal hygiene obtained a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: . The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between the personal hygiene of students and the incidence of scabies in the Raudlatul Huda Islamic Boarding School, Welahan Village, Adipala District. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to conduct research on the variable scabies knowledge and attitudes of students with scabies symptoms in Islamic boarding schools
