Abstract

Background: The global prevalence of hypertension is getting increasing each year, hypertension itself was ranked first ever as cause of death in the world. There are problem on the level of knowledge possessed by people with hypertension is different from one another, causing an increase in cases of hypertension and its complications. This can be overcome by providing education periodically health. Objective: To know the effect of health education on the level of knowledge and behavior prevention of complications in people with hypertension in the pandemic Covid- 19. Methods: A method of quasi was used in the study of his experiments with the approach of one-group pre-test and post-test. The research sample is 85 people with sample collection the sampling method of total use. Instruments in this study using leaflets and questionnaires. The analysis used is the Wilcoxon Test. Research Results: From 85 respondents it is known that knowledge from an average of 12.99 (enough) to 15.55 (Good), while the behavior from an average of 90.66 (enough) to 107.34 (Good) after being given education health. Statistic testing shows carried out shows that there has been increasing on the level of knowledge and its conduct with the value of significance p value = 0.000 (sig < 0.05). Conclusion: There were significant effect on the level of knowledge and behavior before and after being given education health. Recommendation: The next researcher is expected to be able to develop similar research with the use of methods health education the others.
